We are excited that Panther Creek High School will be participating in the WCPSS BringYour Own Device (B.Y.O.D.)Program this 2016 - 2017 school year. Beginning September 12, 2016, PCHS will encourage our students to bring their own technology devices from home (smartphones, Kindles, tablets, iPads, etc.) and into their classrooms for instructional purposes. Devices will be used at the discretion of staff members, to enhance lessons and learning here at PCHS. We are excited about this new initiative and look forward to seeing our students use their devices in the classroom to gather information from the Internet, collaborate with other learners, and utilize productivity tools deemed appropriate by their classroom teachers, media specialists, and administrative team. This initiative is a privilege for students, not a right. It is our hope that the use of devices for social communication outside the learning confines will be minimized. As a team we can make it work for all.
Students are encouraged but not required to bring devices to school. School-owned technology will be provided if students do not have a personal device available. A Panther Creek High School - B.Y.O.D. Student/Parent Agreement will be sent home and must be read, discussed, signed, and returned if your student comes to school with a personal device.
